Best Dallas TX Emergency Plumbing from Ultimate Plumbing & Repair

How Did You Hear About Us?

When Joe Hughes founded Ultimate Plumbing & Repair in Mooresville, NC 14 years ago, his mission was to offer high-quality plumbing services executed by master plumbers at affordable prices with 24-hour service, seven days a week.

Since we first opened our doors and throughout our 14-year history, Ultimate Plumbing’s reputation for excellence in prestigious plumbing at a fair price has consistently garnered reviews of 5 stars and far outstripped our physical footprint, from across the Charlotte metro area to crossing state lines.

We often receive requests for service from customers in other states, due both to our great reputation and our digital marketing efforts, which have expanded our reach well outside our usual territory in the Charlotte, NC metro area. Usually in the past, we’ve simply contacted local plumbers with whom we have a good working relationship and asked them if they could take on these jobs. We gave them the information the customer delivered and the other company took it from there. It was a good system and usually the customer in question used them for other jobs down the line, for which everyone concerned was grateful. Sometimes, we’d get reviewed right alongside the company to whom we passed the information!

Then Winter Storm Uri hit with tragic results, leaving behind a path of tragedy with a human death toll estimated in the hundreds, plus thousands of homes and businesses damaged by water, wind and the aftermath of emergency plumbing problems like frozen and burst pipe and other issues in bathrooms and kitchens due to loss of heat across the Lone Star State.

Many residents had no drinking water. Most of those who still had functional water service after the storm passed had to boil their tap water so it would be safe to drink, or melt snow to flush their toilets as there was no water in the tank. This left consumers, state and local utilities and Dallas plumbers and plumbing companies alike scrambling.

With requests for service pouring in to Ultimate Plumbing from Texas, every Dallas plumbing company we tried to reach out to in hopes of aiding these people was already scrambling to contain the storm damage and had a work backlog several weeks long.

Contractors were simply inundated, leaving them unable to respond quickly to new requests for emergency service or repairs. Unfortunately, there are only so many plumbers in Dallas and the surrounding area, and for that matter the state of Texas, to go around.

Then Joe Hughes made a decision. He assembled 3-4 vans of plumbing crews and applied for emergency licensure from the state of Texas. As soon as the license was approved, they moved out. Now Ultimate Plumbing & Repair is proud to answer Dallas’s plumbing call for help, serving cities across the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area with a little additional manpower to help get life back to normal for as many Texans as fast as possible. Be sure to check out the FAQs section below, where we answer questions about residential and commercial plumbing and how Ultimate Plumbing & Repair is stepping up. Question: How can I tell if I’ve got a plumbing emergency? –Jon, Dallas, TX

Answer: In general and in our experience, it is always better and strongly recommended to assume you have an emergency situation with your plumbing in Dallas TX when you notice leaking water, odd noises, or other water-related problems such as water that drains into odd places or not at all. If your house is over 40 years old, it’s more likely you will have plumbing problems ranging from piddling nuisances to full-blown disasters, especially if the plumbing and fixtures haven’t been updated recently!

It’s easier to deal with a toilet that won’t flush reliably or a light leak when you first start to be aware of it than it is to leave it until you’ve got damage such as a watermark on the wall or a lake in your house bathroom.

When it’s addressed early, we usually have more options for repairing the problem without running up a high bill. So our advice to you is never to wait if you can possibly avoid it. Call a plumbing company before your problem gets out of hand and a simple, affordable plumbing job becomes a major remodeling issue involving your home’s electrical system or home exterior and interior which costs to the tune of several grand that didn’t have to be spent. And it most certainly will in the near future, if you don’t act on it quickly by getting a professional with the knowledge and equipment to fix the problem!

  • Flooding
  • Burst Pipes
  • Sewer Backups/Overflow

Call your Dallas plumber (that’s us) immediately for emergency service! These sorts of plumbing issues can lead to extensive damage to your home or office drywall, flooring and subfloor, and can pose a number of health hazards including contamination with raw sewage and promoting mold growth. But if you’re not sure if your plumbing problem is an emergency, treat it like it is and give us a call. No job across the board is too big or too small, and moving quickly on a plumbing issue could mean the difference between a safe and healthy environment and a toxic, dangerous place for you, your family or your employees!

Question: How do I know I need an emergency plumber in DFW right now? –Mike, Dallas, TX

Answer: Sometimes, the problem is very obvious. If you have a frozen or burst pipe spewing water all over your basement, or your toilet keeps backing up no matter how often you plunge or flush it, or you’re finding standing water along your baseboards in areas like the bathroom, kitchen or laundry area, you’ve got an emergency. But sometimes the problem isn’t obviously an emergency.

What you need to keep in mind is that each system in your home works as a combined whole to keep your entire home working smoothly and consistently.

The kind of small leak most home owners might slap some plumbing tape on and forget about can negatively impact the clean air of your home or office, because it makes a perfect breeding ground for infiltrators like mold, fungi and insects, jeopardizing the long-term health and safety of everyone living or working there. If this happens, there’s nothing you can do except see about pest control and hope the problem isn’t too far gone. Also, standing or leaking water can both wear away at your home, causing water damage which could thoroughly ruin your home or business over time when it rots through the floor, walls or ceilings. In addition, this is a serious safety hazard. Because of this, the plumbing industry strongly recommends repairing your home’s plumbing at the first sign of a problem. This provides protection against future problems, keeps your plumbing operating at maximum flow and can save you from a $150 repair ballooning to a $15,000 remodel in follow-on costs which connect directly and indirectly to the original issue. If you aren’t sure if you have a water emergency, it’s always better to assume you do and act accordingly!

Question: I think I’ve got a slow leak in my bathroom, but it doesn’t seem like that big a deal when so many people don’t have water at all. Do I need to be concerned? –Drew, Coppell, TX

Answer: Even small leaking areas can be a big problem. Sure, in the grander scheme it may only seem like a minor detail that isn’t super important in the moment, but if you notice a leak, it’s better to have it checked right away so you can be sure your plumbing isn’t leaking and it works properly for years to come. Not only will leak detection save you money on your next water bill and prevent waste, but the choice between fixing it promptly and getting it finished or letting it ride for a while could mean the difference between cleaning up a small mess or having to plan and offer a call for plumber plumbers plumbing bids to fix more damage later.

Question: I had water pooling around my toilet. Is that bad? –Mark, Dallas, TX

Answer: Unless your toilet resides in a birdbath or another water feature such as a pet water dish (we don’t judge), pools of water are generally an early warning sign of a problem with the seals at the base of your toilet or leaking from the pipes. One of the best and easiest ways to get a sense of just how bad the situation is called the towel test. Wipe up any leaked water and then place a towel in the area where you originally noticed the pooling. If you come back in a few hours and the towel is dry, you may want to ask who’s been playing in the commode or see if any pets in your home have been drinking out of it. If it’s wet, think of it in terms of lightly damp, moist, saturated or wringing wet. This can help check a box off for our technicians by letting our dispatchers tell the technician where the leak is located and give them a sense of the size and severity of the leak. Plus it gives you a chance to self-screen the problem and make sure you don’t have to pay for a plumber’s drive out plus a big remodel project cost only to learn the water on the floor was due to Fido using it as a drinking glass or little Tommy or Susie playing Pirates and Mermaids in the bathroom!

Contact our dispatchers to learn more and we’ll get to work on your Dallas Texas faucet replacement just as soon as possible!

As the season’s change, so do the needs of your household and the demands on your plumbing. With the colder temperatures of winter, more people stay inside for more of their day, which means they use more water in the home or office. Likewise, as winter becomes spring and snow turns to monsoons and then sunny skies and summer storms, people drink more water, but also spend more time outside. This leads to different strains and demands on your plumbing system, and the likely problems you might expect in spring are less likely in late fall.

From Turtle Creek Blvd. to the outer edges of the DFW metroplex and the beginning of Hill Country, and from tony Deep Ellum to Junius Heights and beyond, Ultimate Plumbing specializes in inspecting and preparing Dallas, TX residential and commercial plumbing for the season to come, making sure your plumbing is up to code and the challenges each season’s unique needs bring with them.

Our inspection, detection, cleaning and repair services include:

  • Drain cleaning
  • Water heater inspection and repair
  • Sump pump inspection and repair
  • Garbage disposal inspection
  • Water quality testing for both city and well-sourced water
  • And much, much more!

At Ultimate Plumbing, we know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That’s why our usual guidelines recommend having your plumbing and associated systems inspected at least once a year, and more frequently during inclement weather including unexpectedly violent storms or frigid temperatures which can impact your plumbing system’s integrity and performance. We also recommend you check out our list of common bathroom plumbing issues and how to avoid them for tips, tricks and tactics you can use to help prevent plumbing problems before they start. But if the worst does happen and you need our services, you can always call and schedule an appointment for free estimates, or call us right away for emergency repairs!

Many homeowners prefer to try to fix their plumbing problems themselves, especially in cases where the root cause is simply diagnosed.

While it may be tempting to try to save a couple of Benjamins by going the DIY route, you could wind up costing yourself a lot more time and money than you realize. Depending on the repair in question, you might need to apply for one, or several, building permits. In many cases, Texas state law also requires you to submit drawings for approval before you engage in major plumbing work and have the final work inspected by a city inspector. Even worse, if the work you did doesn’t meet code, the building inspector or designated examiners may require you to hire a contractor anyway. If someone else has to repair what you fixed, this will certainly add time, expense and frustration to your plumbing repair!

At Ultimate Plumbing, we are familiar and compliant with state laws for both North Carolina and Texas, as well as local laws and ordinances governing plumbing repairs. We’re licensed, bonded and insured, and our work is guaranteed. Best of all, we never charge for work we don’t do or repairs your plumbing system doesn’t need. This not only offers you peace of mind with your Dallas TX plumbers, but confidence you’ll experience complete satisfaction with our service and your bill—and delight with the results!
